Things are getting progressively busier and more difficult. This week is actually a little slow due to the accreditation committee being here, so I have a little more time to study during the day than usual. Biochemistry takes up the bulk of my studying time. There's a lot to know, and although our tests are multiple choice, the professor uses "more than one but not all" a lot for a choice, which means you really have to know what fits and what doesn't.
Speaking of tests, we had our first biochemistry test last week: I got an A-, but only after a 13% curve! The test was much more difficult than anyone had anticipated (the highest uncurved score was maybe 90-91%), yet our prof. said that his hardest test was probably still easier than the easiest anatomy test!! We don't begin anatomy until October, but I'm already looking forward to it (sarcasm).
The other class that requires a lot of work is dental morphology. I was up in the lab (it's on the 2nd floor with lots of nice windows, not in the dungeon like many dental schools) yesterday with my friend Anil, planning to finish up waxing #6 (upper right canine). I noticed, though, that it didn't quite follow the arch of the other teeth the way it should, so I started trying to adjust. Well, it just got worse, took too much wax off, worse, worse, and then crap, I just had to start from the beginning again. I guess it will help me wax more quickly (which is necessary for the lab practicals), but it's frustrating at the same time.
Well, things are going well overall. I need to study for our Micro test today.
